Dan Hoak

Radio Science Software Developer I write software that's used to process data from radio astronomy and geodesy experiments.

I earned a PhD in physics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 2015, working on the LIGO experiment to detect gravitational waves.  From there I went to Italy on a Fulbright scholarship, to work at the Virgo gravitational wave detector outside of Pisa.  In 2017 I moved to the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics as a postdoc, working with Josh Grindlay on the REXIS experiment onboard NASA’s OSIRIS-REx mission.  I joined Haystack in 2020.
