Site Manager, Westford Radio Telescope Manages the Westford Radio Telescope site at MIT Haystack Observatory.

Alex Burns is the Site Manager of the Westford Radio Telescope at Haystack Observatory. Beginning with education as a factory-trained Mercedes-Benz technician, he followed a unique path into radio astronomy, where he now collaborates with research teams to advance scientific discovery. His experience includes a six-month assignment at the Ny-Ålesund 20m radio telescope in 2014 and contributions to the VGOS installation at Kokee Park Geophysical Observatory and McDonald Observatory that earned the team a 2019 Robert H. Goddard Award for Engineering. Alex is proud to play a small part in a talented team that continues to innovate in RF research.
