Astronomy Community Day at MIT Haystack Observatory
On Friday, 2023 July 21, MIT Haystack Observatory welcomed a number of local students and researchers in professional astronomy to tour:
- The Haystack 37m Telescope
- The VLBI Correlator for Astronomy and Geodesy (e.g., for EHT work), and
- The Small Radio Telescope (SRT; for education)
Substantial time was set aside for informal conversations over lunch and coffee, as well as a group discussion about the future use of the Haystack Telescope and the formation of an SRT user community.
Thank you to all participants for an excellent day and productive discussion time! We look forward to future community events.
